On April 11, the Children’s Hospital Association led the submission of joint comments with other children's groups in response to the proposed rule on ACA benefits, eligibility, and enrollments released on March 10.
Our comments focused on changes needed to strengthen the rule and avoid unintended harm to children's health insurance coverage in the Marketplace, including:
- Retract a proposal that prohibits coverage of gender-affirming care as an essential health benefit.
- Reconsider a proposal to exclude Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients from Marketplace coverage.
- Revise numerous provisions that restrict enrollment and accessibility to coverage.
